The DigiTrak locating system, developed by Digital Control Inc., is the industry standard for tracking Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) operations.
It utilizes a downhole transmitters, installed in to a drill bit housing. The signal fom the transmitter is read by a surface locator/receiver, and a remote display to provide exact depth, roll, pitch, and orientation of the drill bit below ground directly to the driller.
This information provides the driller an accurate drill path, allowing adjustments to the drilling operation on the fly.
